Level 3 (Early Years First Aid & First Aid at Work trained)

My journey in childcare began when I left my native country of Slovakia and came to the UK as an au-pair many years ago. I stayed with a family of 3 girls until they moved back to their native Ireland. I then relocated to Surrey and continued my au-pair duties with a family of 2 girls. This is when I met my now husband Fabien. As the girls I cared for grew up and started school, I decided to broaden my experience and joined a nursery setting where I completed my Early years qualification and obtained my Level 2 and 3 in childcare and education. While I was completing my qualification and gaining more experience, I worked with children from 3 months to 5 years and experienced all classrooms throughout the setting.

In early 2006, Fabien started up his new venture; a French cafe in Oxford. We waved goodbye to leafy Surrey and in the summer of 2006 we made the big move to Oxfordshire. I started a new role as a nanny for a family of 2 boys and I thoroughly enjoyed fulfilling my duties and become part of the family. Wanting to go back to nursery life I began searching for a nursery and in March 2009 I was lucky enough to be offered a position at Bear necessities. I feel very privileged and lucky to be part of many children’s and staff’s journey over the past years .

From the thousands of jobs out there, we surely have the best and most rewarding job; we play, we laugh, we sing but most importantly we are proud! We celebrate everyone’s achievements whether they be small steps or big leaps in the early stage of their lives.
